REEDE (Ernst van), heer van Vuersche en Drakestein, zoon van Gerard van Reede, heer van de Vuersche en Drakestein en van Margaretha van Reede tot Nederhorst. Hij werd in 1619 luitenant-houtvester van Utrecht en, drie jaren later, maarschalk van het overkwartier van het Sticht, van welken post hij, in 1625, vrijwillig afstand deed. Later kocht hij de ridderhofstad Drakestein en de ambagtsheerlijkheid Drakestein, waarmeê hij in 1634 werd beleend. In het eind van zijn leven had hij zitting in 't collegie ter admiraliteit te Amsterdam. Hij huwde Elizabeth van Utenhove, dochter van Antony van Utenhove, heer van Rijnestein en van Agneta van Renesse van Baar, die hem tien kinderen schonk.

REEDE (Ernst), Lord of Vuersche and Drake Stein, son of Gerard van Reede, lord of the Vuersche and Drake Stein and Margaret Reede to Nederhorst. In 1619 he became lieutenant-forester of Utrecht and, three years later, the Marshal of the Quarter for the diocese, of whom he is heading, in 1625, voluntarily relinquished. Later he bought the manor and Drakestein Ambagtsheer Drakestein which he was pledged in 1634. At the end of his life, he served on it for Collegie Admiralty in Amsterdam. He married Elizabeth Utenhove, daughter of Antony Utenhove, Mr. van Rijn Stein and Agneta van Renesse van Baar, who bore him ten children.

New Dutch biographical dictionary. Part 3 [Drakestein Van Reede, Ernst] REEDE OF DRAKE STEIN (Ernst of ), lord of the Vuursche and Drakestein; born. Utrecht Sept. 30. 1588, died. Oct 17. 1640 and buried. in the Cathedral, twin brother of the ambassador at Munster and son of Gerard van Reede van Nederhorst (1) (col. 1023) and Mechteld Peunis. It was March 19, 1619 Lieutenant-forester of the province of Utrecht, from which office he relinquished in 1626, Marshal of the Upper Quarter January 28, 1622, 1625 on which dignity he wore for his brother Adrian Ross. Then Marshal Eemland and because Utrecht Oct 12. 1633 Board of the Admiralty of Amsterdam. He bought and became Drakenstein Sept. 27. 1634 pawned. In 1640, he has largely rebuilt the castle. Ernst van Reede married in January 1617 with Elisabeth Utenhove at. 13 Febr. 1637, vermoedel. Utrecht, daughter of Anthony , commander of the stoke Ostend in 1604, and Agnes van Renesse from Baer . They had eleven children born, Frederick , baptized in Utrecht, Jacobi Church, May 12, 1624, as captain of a comp. Feb. 19 footmen. Brazil in 1649 on Mount Gararappes was killed in a battle against the Portuguese. Carel , St John Knight and chief butler to the elector of Brandenburg, died in 1679. The other two sons were Gerard (Col. 1010) and Hendrik Adriaan (Col. 1011), a daughter Agnes (see col. 1025).
